The Continental
Location: Sorrento
Architect: Woods Bagot
Builder: Hamilton Marino

The Continental, located in the seaside town of Sorrento on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, is well-known as an iconic historical venue, providing timeless experiences for holidaymakers since 1875. A recent multi-million-dollar makeover has transformed ‘The Conti’ into three sections, spanning five buildings across six levels. The heritage-listed hotel now boasts the luxury 108-room InterContinental, 13 dining and drinking spaces, and a wellness center, all while retaining its heritage character. Metro Steel Windows played a role in the new direction of this ambitious project through the replacement of existing heritage windows and internal steel-framed doors and entryways.
Audrey’s, named after Scott Pickett’s grandma, offers guests an authentic and elegant dining experience. Our black steel-framed windows frame magnificent ocean views, allowing diners to immerse themselves in the breathtaking scenery. Manufactured using our W40 profile, a combination of fixed and operable awning windows captures the essence of the building’s historical architecture both from the interior and exterior, while providing an abundance of natural light and a delightful sea breeze.
The interior boasts original locally quarried limestone walls that complement our arched steel-framed doors.
Hidden beneath The Continental, you will find ‘Barlow,’ a late-night cocktail bar. Take a turn and follow the lights to where a stunning entry welcomes you. Our black steel-framed double doors, with clear glazing, lure you further into a night of glitz and glamour. Manufactured using our W40 profile, the slim and sophisticated profile sets the scene for this late-night speakeasy bar.
