Maison Bâtard is a four-level French dining destination in Melbourne’s CBD that masterfully fuses heritage architecture with contemporary elegance. Located within the iconic heritage-listed 23 Bourke Street, the building has undergone an eight-year restoration, with design collaboration between Chris and Sarah Lucas, Mitchell & Eades, and Mills Gorman Architects. Our custom steel windows and doors play a pivotal role in bringing this luxuriously indulgent and timeless French venue to life, capturing its essence through atmosphere and detail.

From the ground floor brasserie to the rooftop terrace, steel-framed doors and windows draw soft ambient light deep into each space while honouring the building’s heritage. On La Terrasse, custom steel French and bi-fold doors open to reveal a secluded courtyard anchored by a 50-year-old maple tree, an exquisite blend of Parisian charm and Melbourne sophistication.

Our refined and contemporary black steel frames, accented with custom gold glazing beads, create an architectural feature while enhancing the marble surfaces, velvet lounges, dark panelled walls, and taupe vaulted ceilings, paying homage to the classic French aesthetic with a distinctly modern edge.
